Who we are

Dalton Handley Pty Ltd (ABN 53 163 818 022), trading as Dalton Handley, is a recruitment, executive search and remuneration advisory firm based at 410/350 George Street, Sydney NSW 2000. In this policy "we", "us" and "our" mean Dalton Handley.

We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we hold it and who we share it with. It applies to this website, to our recruitment and search work, and to our pay and remuneration research.

What we collect

Candidates: your name, contact details, CV, employment history, qualifications, the roles and firms you are interested in, remuneration information you choose to share, interview notes, references, and the outcome of any application.

Clients and hiring firms: the names and contact details of the people we deal with, briefs for roles, and information about the firm needed to run a search.

Survey participants: the answers you give in one of our pay surveys, including role, level, sector, location and pay. Reports are produced from this data in aggregate.

Website visitors: the information you enter in a form, your email address if you subscribe to the quarterly market note, and technical data such as pages visited, device and browser, collected through analytics where you allow it.

How we collect it

Most information comes from you, through this website, by email, by phone or in a meeting. We also collect information from referees you nominate, from publicly available sources such as LinkedIn and firm websites, and from hiring firms during a search.

If you send us a CV or apply for a role you agree to us holding that information and using it for the purposes set out here.

Why we collect it

To consider you for roles and to run a search for a hiring firm. To contact you about roles that fit what you have told us you want. To provide pay reports and advice. To send the quarterly market note and job alerts to people who have asked for them. To run, secure and improve this website. To meet our legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for purposes unrelated to recruitment, research and advisory work.

Who we share it with

A candidate’s details go to a hiring firm only with that candidate’s agreement, and only after we have told the candidate which firm it is. Your current employer is never contacted.

Where a search runs across our Associate Partners, your details may be shared with Anthem Consulting in London or Greenlight Consulting in Hong Kong, again only with your agreement.

We use service providers to run our recruitment database, email, forms, surveys and analytics. Some of these providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States, the United Kingdom and Singapore. We take reasonable steps to make sure they handle your information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

We may disclose information where the law requires it.

Survey data

Survey responses are held securely and reported only in aggregate. No individual response is identified in a report, and we do not release results for a group so small that an individual could be identified. A candidate who completes a survey receives a bespoke report on their own position against the market, and nobody else sees it.

Cookies and analytics

With your consent we use Google Analytics and the LinkedIn Insight Tag to understand how the site is used and to measure our own advertising. You can decline in the cookie notice when you first visit, and you can change your choice at any time by clearing cookies in your browser. Forms on this site are protected by reCAPTCHA, which is subject to Google’s privacy policy.

How we hold and secure it

Personal information is held in our recruitment database and in the systems of the service providers above, each protected by access controls, passwords and encryption in transit. Only people who need the information to do their work can see it. We keep candidate records for as long as we have a reasonable prospect of helping you with a role, and we destroy or de identify information we no longer need.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to stop contacting you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing charles@daltonhandley.com or calling +61 499 956 666. We respond within 30 days.

If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, write to us first and we will investigate and reply. If you are not satisfied with our response you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
