A leading national law firm is seeking a senior commercial strategist to lead its Projects practice group, working closely with sector-leading Partners across Construction, Real Estate, Energy, Environment and Project Finance. This role blends strategic planning, team leadership and business development in one of the firm’s most commercially significant practice streams.

You’ll report directly to the firm’s Chief Clients & Markets Officer and play a pivotal role in identifying, shaping and converting major revenue opportunities – both within Australia and internationally.

About the Role

As Senior Manager – Projects, you will:

  • Drive strategy for the Projects stream, including shaping client targeting, industry positioning and sector-specific business plans.
  • Lead a national team of BD Managers and Advisers across core practice areas: Construction, Real Estate, Environment & Sustainable Development, and Energy.
  • Collaborate across the firm with stream leaders in Transactions, Advisory, Risk, and Disputes, as well as sector heads in Infrastructure and Energy.
  • Coach and empower Partners, bringing data, insights, and pipeline discipline to growth conversations.
  • Own and deliver growth initiatives, from campaigns and bids to key client programs and cross-practice collaboration.

You Will Bring

  • Proven experience in a senior BD, client development, or strategic marketing role within a major law or professional services firm.
  • Deep commercial acumen and the ability to turn insight into action and revenue.
  • Credibility with senior partners and the confidence to influence at leadership level.
  • Strong people leadership and ability to manage national or matrixed teams.
  • Exceptional communication and project management skills.
