An exciting opportunity has arisen with a leading national legal practice, known for it’s prominent position across key industries including property, construction, transport and logistics, technology, insurance, corporate advisory, education, consumer, and government. As a member of the Brand, Clients & Markets team, this key role will work with talented Business Development Managers and a Business Development Coordinator to develop and deliver the go to market strategy and activities for the Built Environment team and selected groups across the Commercial pillar, which include Employment & Safety, Disputes, Corporate & Commercial and Restructuring.

Work with BD Managers, Client Relationship Partners and client teams on the day-to-day management of key clients across these groups, including documenting plans, conducting research, relationship mapping and reporting on progress.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and deliver profiling and client engagement marketing campaigns, including digital, video and face to face.
  • Draft and/or review external communications to clients (thought leadership and campaigns) and activities (social media and website) and any other communications. 
  • Draft and/or review award submissions, deal releases and undertake new lawyer onboarding tasks.  
  • Act as a contact for lawyers for all BD related inquiries.
  • Plan and deliver profile raising, relationship building and key client events across allocated groups
  • Attend the events, prepare post event dashboard and assist Brand & Communications team with event promotions.
  • Maximise outbound sponsorship benefits, and be day to day contact for partner organisations.   
  • Work with the group leads and the BDM on ad hoc internal activities including regular reporting and team meeting and AGM presentations.
  • Ensure groups are leveraging internal communications channels – Good News Stories, to raise their profile within the practice and celebrate success.
  • Contribute to the preparation of tenders and proposals, and at times lead the preparation of capability statements. 

What we’re looking for:

  • Minimum 3 (ideally 5) years’ experience in business development or marketing
  • Sound understanding of professional services firm marketing theory and related concepts/structures/activities
  • Proven experience in working with business areas and practice groups to progress BD, marketing and CRM-specific strategies and activities
  • Tertiary qualifications in marketing, business or communications
  • Excellent customer service and client-centric work ethic
  • Sound knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office suite, a CRM and related IT platforms
  • A team player with strong verbal and written communication skills
