Currently, we have mandates to engage with Business Development & Marketing Advisers and Managers, ready to take their careers to the next level in this dynamic sector; we are interested in engaging with suitable candidates to begin having conversations before the end of the Financial Year.

These various opportunities are with global, national tier-1 and specialist/boutique national firms, all of which have excellent BD leadership and team cultures. The nature of the roles will vary, from traditional practice group BD to hybrid BD/client opportunities.

Typical responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans in collaboration with partners to identify and capitalise on new business opportunities.
  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, including partners and other fee earners to enhance business growth and client retention.
  • Analyse market trends and competitor activities to advise on potential legal services demand and new market opportunities.
  • Lead and coordinate pitches and proposals, ensuring alignment with the firm’s strategic goals and client needs.
  • Manage and mentor junior staff within the business development team to build departmental expertise (where appropriate).
  • Organise and participate in networking and industry events to enhance firm visibility and develop new business leads.
  • Track and report on business development activities and outcomes, adjusting strategies as necessary.

Experience required:

  • Roughly, between three and eight years’ experience in business development and/or marketing in professional services.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively build relationships with partners and other key stakeholders.
  • Ideally, a proven track record in identifying opportunities and developing strategic business development plans to pursue and win work, leading or supporting BD planning efforts.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
