Dalton Handley is currently working on seven roles well suited to candidates with two to six years’ experience, looking for their next step up or a firm brand uplift.
The Roles
My client firms have various exciting opportunities ambitious and energetic Business Development Executives, Advisers or entry-level Managers to join their Business Development teams. In these roles, you will form part of prominent functions, supporting the Business Development leaders of key practice areas or sector groups; you will be responsible for providing support to practice groups with marketing and business development initiatives, including pitching for new business and practice group profile-raising activities.
Typical role responsibilities:
- Supporting Business Development Leaders in proactively winning new clients and driving the strategic direction of key practice groups through business and client planning activities.
- Focus on driving new revenue by effectively coaching partners to pursue opportunities in new and emerging markets, including building the sales capability of the groups you support.
- Provide tactical and strategic advice to tpartners to develop relevant BD strategy
- Contribute to the preparation of directory submissions, pitch and bid documents.
- Provide innovative ideas and facilitate the development of an improved client experience.
- Analyse firm client data to identify opportunities to assist with the development and implementation of appropriate strategies.
- Assist with the preparation of directories and award submissions.
- Execute on practice group client events for practice groups, and internal events relating to business development.
- Prepare and distribute electronic newsletters and client alerts.
- Draft and update relevant sections of intranet and websites; including practice group descriptions, highlight deals and lawyer bios/CVs.
- Participate in team projects as requested.
About You
To be successful, you will have experience in a similar role, or as an established business development coordinator looking to take that next step in your career. Experience working within a legal, corporate or professional services environment is desirable. In addition, you will be/have:
- 2 to 6 years’ experience in a similar role within professional services.
- Experience contributing to the drafting and preparation of tenders and pitches.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Strong project coordination skills.
- A high level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office.
- high level of attention to detail.
- An understanding of the fundamental principles of marketing.
- An ability to work under pressure and deliver to deadlines.
- An ability to work autonomously as well as in a collaborative team environment.
- Initiative, energy and enthusiasm to contribute to your own development and the development of the firm.
