The firm is partnering exclusively with Dalton Handley to appoint a high-calibre mid-level BD professional to join a core advisory practice – one of the most respected, high-profile and deal-driven groups in the region.

This is not a traditional BD role. It’s an opportunity to step into a strategically focused, commercially critical, market-facing team in a role supporting strategic business development initiatives, profile-raising campaigns, thought leadership initiatives, key client engagement and select strategic pitches. You’ll work closely with award-winning partners and experienced BD leaders, on matters that regularly feature in the AFR and global deal press.

About The Role

Strategic BD & Client Growth

  • Shape and support delivery of the BD strategy for the a key advisory group.

  • Identify and pursue client and sector opportunities aligned to firm priorities and market shifts.

  • Partner with senior stakeholders to manage pipeline development, reporting and strategic planning.

Clients & Markets Campaigns

  • Drive profile-raising campaigns across regulatory reform, ESG, public and private M&A, capital markets and more.

  • Collaborate with the firm’s communications and marketing teams on media, content and events.

  • Help deliver roundtables, sponsorships, and campaigns from planning to ROI analysis.

Client Engagement

  • Support firmwide client programs including feedback, relationship tracking and cross-practice collaboration.

  • Leverage insights and data to inform targeting, client planning and relationship development.

  • Translate sector themes and market developments into actionable client conversations.

Enablement & Insight

  • Maintain and evolve BD infrastructure including credentials, content libraries and deal assets.

  • Use data, dashboards and market intel to shape and refine BD activity.

  • Collaborate across BD teams to ensure alignment and cross-pollination of best practice.

Pitching & Pursuits

  • While not pitch-heavy, the role includes supporting select strategic pursuits where needed.

  • You’ll work closely with a dedicated national pitching team that manages end-to-end process and production, allowing you to focus on positioning, messaging and coaching.

About You

You’ll ideally bring:

  • 5+ years’ BD and marketing experience in legal, professional or financial services.

  • A commercial mindset, strong stakeholder skills and ability to influence senior lawyers.

  • Experience with profile-building campaigns, content and/or sector engagement programs.

  • Project management and writing skills, with a steady hand across short-turnaround and long-range projects.

  • Familiarity with CRM and BD tools 

  • A collaborative and proactive approach, with curiosity and ambition to grow.
