Key responsibilities
- Own BD for Australia offices: identify/prioritise targets, run systematic pursuits, and drive follow-up to conversion.
- Build and maintain client business plans with partners; set goals, map relationships, and track actionable next steps.
- Convene cadence meetings with office leadership to review key relationships, pipeline and performance; translate plans into actions.
- Coordinate and advise on multi-practice, multi-office pitches with global bid teams; prepare follow-ups and meeting materials.
- Develop business intelligence packs for client meetings; coordinate company/industry research with central research/reporting teams.
- Manage local directory and award submissions; prepare partners for researcher interviews.
- Plan and execute client-facing events with global teams: curate guest lists, timelines, agendas and materials; ensure brand consistency.
- Support inbound/outbound lawyer visits to/from Australia; ensure trips are focused on priority clients and outcomes.
- Capture Australia-related matter/deal experience in firm databases; share wins internally and support external PR as appropriate.
- Contribute to internal BD comms (newsletters/updates) and promote best practice across the region.
- Assist with the Australia BD budget in partnership with office leadership and global BD&C.
What you bring
- Degree qualified; 8+ years’ BD/marketing experience in professional services (law firm experience strongly regarded).
- 3+ years managing people and/or programs; proven ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication; sound judgement, discretion and confidentiality.
- Highly organised self-starter; sets priorities, meets deadlines, and sees projects through.
- Collaborative style with global mindset; comfortable working across time zones and functions.
- Proficiency with common law-firm applications and a data-led approach to decisions.
