Are you a talented, intelligent and ambitious business development professional seeking an opporuninty to further your skills and career development prospects at a sophisticated tier-1 law firm? One of Dalton Handley’s longest standing clients, a globally recognised, truly tier-1 full service law firm is seeking a Business Development Adviser to support strategic BD, client growth and profile raising efforts. Located in Sydney or Melbourne, this role will report to a highly experienced national Senior Business Development Manager for Corporate, M&A and Capital Markets and is charged with helping to drive the implementation of practice strategy and business development initiatives. At its core, this role is to help support revenue growth and building stronger, more enduring client relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement business development strategies to enhance client relationships and drive revenue growth.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and stay ahead of industry trends.
  • Proposal Management: Lead the preparation of high-quality proposals and presentations for prospective clients.
  • Drive the firm’s growth by identifying and capitalising on new business opportunities.
  • Client Focus: Develop and execute client development plans, ensuring exceptional client service and satisfaction.
  • Collaborative Approach: Work closely with partners and practice groups to align business development efforts with firm-wide goals.
  • Innovative Solutions: Implement innovative business development initiatives to differentiate the firm in the market.
  • Thought Leadership: Position the firm as a thought leader through strategic marketing and communications efforts.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a professional services firm or other corporate organisation with complex stakeholder management.
  • Experience leading, managing or supporting on tenders to win work.
  • Experience working alongside a BD Lead in developing and implementing business development initiatives to support revenue growth.
  • An understanding of client experience and an ability to align business development activities to deliver exceptional client experience.
  • Well-developed research and organisation skills, ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities, good attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with communications, digital and events teams to design and deliver marketing and communication strategies in a corporate environment.
