Seeking talent for the New Year right now, this firm has a rare opportunity for a Manager or Senior Manager level business development and client specialist with ambitions to contribute to the development and execution of the firm’s strategy for a key service line. This is a permanent position, reporting to a well-liked, visible and supportive member of a long-established and stable leadership team. As a BD and client lead, you will focus predominantly on developing and implementing strategies, coaching high-performing partners and contributing to the development of the broader team. You will also be responsible developing and managing plans for engaging with priority clients. Responsibilities include:

  • Client engagement – leveraging in person opportunities to listen to clients, identify trends, build relationships, and enhance the firm’s profile.
  • Cross collaboration with relevant priority sectors and other parts of the business, leveraging work that is already being done.
  • Commercialisation – identifying which segments / product are most profitable or are enablers for profitable work and focus the team on those.
  • Identifying and driving profiling opportunities – including sponsorships, conferences and thought leadership – work with fee earners or external content writers to develop content.
  • Identifying and contributing to the development of professional expertise across the business – working with others to deliver internal education and training to the broader firm.
  • Working autonomously and focusing on collaboration and connection – utilising the firm’s existing infrastructure and activity to leverage work that is already being done.
  • Contributing to and driving projects and initiatives support the firm’s strategic objectives.

What we’re looking for:

  • A bachelor’s degree (or similar)
  • 8+ years’ experience in a business development role in a corporate or partnership environment
  • Demonstrated expertise in influencing a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience project managing key pitches and pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent commercial awareness
  • The ability to navigate complex matrix organisations.
  • Working knowledge of Banking related topics and issues (desirable)
  • Demonstrated expertise in influencing a diverse range of stakeholders • Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build trusting 
  • relationships with the partnership and business services alike 
  • Experience project managing key pitches and pursuing new business opportunities 
  • Strong project management skills, sound organisational, planning and project administrative skills 
  • Demonstrates commercial awareness
    Ability to navigate complex matrix organisations
